SPRING APPLIED BRAKES (Normally off) GP.SAB SERIES

In a Spring Applied Brakes, when the current is given to the stator/brake coil the armature plate is pulled towards the stator against the applied spring force which releases the rotor. And when the current supplied is turned off, the strong compression springs push the armature back to its position which in turn clamps the rotor and provides the specified braking torque.

Single Disc Electromagnetic Brakes (Normally off) GP.SDB Series

In a Single Disc Electromagnetic Brakes, when the current is applied the spring (diaphragm) loaded armature is directly pulled against the friction liner of the stationary brake body. Due to the resulting torque causing the rotating part to come to an instant halt. When the current is switched off, the spring action of the diaphragm ensures a rapid disengagement free from any residual torque.

Electromagnetic Multi Disc Brakes, GP.MDB series

In an Electromagnetic Multi Disc Brake, the magnet body is mounted on the machine in a stationary manner. The design of the brake ensures that the magnetic field generated by the coil doesn't pass through the plates and a very quick response time is achievable.
